Stormbreaker

Cheese Quality 1/2

It was actually pretty good at first, but as the dish wore on this ballpark-style cheese sauce overpowered the rest of the dish. As a very general rule, I don’t love the wet cheese sauces on nachos. They’re for dipping, not for submerging. That’s how you end up with soggy chips.

consistency 0/2

These nachos can’t be finished. They dissolve into goop in the last half inch, and there were also many naked chips throughout the dish.

General ingredient quality 1/2

It automatically gets a point for having guacamole, but overall didn’t love these nachos and didn’t feel the freshness of the ingredients here. Part of the advantages of putting pico on nachos is to provide a pop of freshness, and while they took that opportunity, the pico didn’t quite get there in terms of quality. Also—a personal preference, here—didn’t love the amount of cilantro on the top.

chip integrity 0/2

Although these chips were flavored—which is a solid idea—this didn’t make up for the fact that some of them were entirely naked, while others broke into little bits, and also got soggy and dissolved in the end. These nachos are too wet.

Flavor 1/2

It started out tasting pretty nice, but ended up being not so balanced. See the note on general ingredient quality above, where we talk about the pico.

There’s no balance on this plate, aside from when it was first brought out and the waitress was holding it.
