NACHO WEEK: West Coast Grocery Co.

Cheese Quality 0.5/2

The cheesy sauce was more like a roux or béchamel than anything else, and it all pooled at the bottom in an inedible lake. I did not want to slurp this cheese. Could be good for some sort of fusion linguini. The cojita didn’t really add anything.

consistency 0/2

There was one chip with everything on it, and the rest were bare and naked, shivering in the early autumn chill. We physically couldn’t finish this veritable casserole of nachos, because all of the toppings sogged up the bottom.

General ingredient quality 1.5/2

The corn was good, and it seemed like everything was well made. Considering it’s nacho week, this was pretty fresh!

chip integrity 0/2

They melted. These, like many nachos in the past, suffered for being too wet.

Flavor 2/2

These nachos were advertised as elote inspired, and I can certainly see that. It had the corn, chili flakes, and lime in a buttery blend. Though the chips fell apart and the cheese left something to be desired, when it all coalesced it was a wonderful flavor profile.
